WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO STOP NEW TAXES FOR
RAIL AND THE TOLLING OF OUR FREEWAYS.
I
am absolutely against the proposal to impose
tolls on our freeways. I-4 is currently being
set up for toll lanes. I-95 and others will
not be far behind.
Rail will result in hundreds of millions of
dollars in new local taxes and could have been
stopped on the federal level. The hundreds of
millions we pay annually in road taxes to both
state and federal government will be diverted
to rail, while the new tolls are being publicized
as revenue to build roads. Taxpayers have already
paid for these roads and should not have to
pay twice. -
